The Control and Monitoring Department ensures:
a) Identification of risks facing the agency and evaluation of their management quality;
b) Development of annual and strategic plans of the Control and Monitoring Department in accordance with the procedure established by legislation;
c) Evaluation/monitoring of the agency's activities for compliance with the legislation of Georgia;
d) Evaluation of the adequate protection of the agency's assets, other resources, and information;
e) Verification of the existence of official misconduct and/or actions inconsistent with the objectives of the institution;
f) Control over compliance with the requirements of the legislation of Georgia by the central apparatus and territorial bodies of the agency;
g) Implementation of appropriate preventive measures, identification and analysis of risk factors to prevent violations of discipline and legality by employees of the central apparatus and territorial bodies of the agency;
h) Submission of a report on the activities carried out (in a form agreed upon with the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry) to the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry by the end of the month following each reporting quarter and at the beginning of each year;
i) Introduction, application, and control of the use of occupational safety standards in the process of activities of persons employed in the agency.
