Works on the construction of the "Business Yard" is in the active phase in the Kakheti region, too. The Deputy Head of the National Forestry Agency, David Aladashvili, got acquainted with the works in Sagarejo, Gurjaani, and Dedopliskaro.

At the initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the so-called "Business Yards" will be built in almost all municipalities of Georgia. In order to improve the process of forest management, the National Forestry Agency is amending the practice of timber production. Social logging will be phased out in stages, the agency will organize, produce, sort and stack timber materials in Business Yards. This reform will make it easier for the population and the private sector to purchase and transport timber materials in a period convenient for them.

In addition to providing the population with heating wood, which at this stage implies the allocation of cutting areas as part of social felling, the Agency, with its own efforts and with the participation of the private sector, continues to organize logging in all regions. At this stage, work is ongoing at 14 objects - in Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kakheti, and Imereti. By the end of the year, 26 more Business Yards will be arranged across the country. As a result, forest management for the purpose of timber production will be carried out more efficiently, the negative impact on the forest will decrease, and the risk of illegal logging will also be significantly reduced.
