On the initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, an action was taken to clean up the territory of the state forest fund adjacent to Lake Shaori.  Together with the Head of the National Forestry Agency Archil Nikolaishvili, the action was attended by well-known people. In connection with the onset of the tourist season, civic activists, actors, and media representatives once again urged the population to comply with safety rules in the forest and obey the prohibitions that apply to making fires and arranging picnic places in the territory. Campfire on the territory of the forest fund is allowed only at a place previously prepared for this purpose, which implies the removal of flammable materials within a radius of 1.5 meters from the fire place (hay, dry grass, leaves, brushwood).

The action was supported by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and it was also attended by State Representative in Racha-Lechkhumi Kvemo Svaneti region Archil Japaridze and local government.

According to the Code of Administrative Offenses, violation of fire safety requirements in the forest, which entailed the occurrence of a fire in the forest or its spread over a certain territory, as well as damage or destruction of the forest as a result of arson or irresponsible handling of fire, entails a fine of 100 up to 200 lari. In the event of a fire in the forest due to irresponsibility, the law implies imprisonment from four to eight years.
