Camping place in Borjomi
In Borjomi, on the territory of the State Forest Fund, will be arranged a place for camping with all the necessary infrastructure, such as a picnic table, a place for a fire and showers. The tent site will be equipped with a solar system. The project also includes educational activities in the field of environmental protection and arrangement of educational paths in the forest fund. Multi-purpose forest use and the development of eco-tourism are among the priorities of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture. Accordingly, the National Forestry Agency is actively working to create similar infrastructures on the territory of the State Forest Fund, which will facilitate the employment of the local population and the development of eco-tourism in all regions.
The project "Introduction and Popularization of Multifunctional Forest Use in Borjomi Municipality" is being implemented by the Research and Development Center for Conservation of Species "NACRES" together with Samtskhe-Javakheti Media Center. The project was initiated within the framework of the eco-grant program and is funded by BP and its partners - Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasus gas pipeline projects.
