The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Kakha Kakabadze together with the Head of the National Forestry Agency Kakha Tsertsvadze visited the "business yard" of the Kaspi municipality.

According to Kakha Kakabadze, the organized production of timber and the sustainable development of multi-purpose forest use will ensure the unhindered supply of firewood for the population, as well as the creation of additional jobs in rural areas, which are opportunities for income growth.

"The National Forestry Agency organizes timber production, sorting and storing it in "business yards". Complete abolition of social cuts is planned from 2026. The agency has started to introduce new services, which support the population to obtain firewood easier and to use transportation services", - noted the Head of the National Forestry Agency, Kakha Tsertsvadze.

By the initiative of the National Forestry Agency, 39 "Business Yards" operate in all regions of the country, providing all information about the forest and facilitating services. As for Shida Kartli region, there are "business yards" in Khashuri, Gori, Kareli, and Kaspi.

By the end of 2023, another 17 "business yards" will be organized in the country.
