Within the framework of the project "Sustainable Forest Management in Adigeni Municipality", a forest inventory was carried out on an area of 30,000 hectares in the Adigeni forest district. Fieldwork is completed, after which multi-purpose forest management plans will be prepared.

The project is funded by the Government of Slovenia and implemented by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) with the involvement of a Slovenian company (Zavita). The Center for International Cooperation and Development (CMSR) in Slovenia has allocated € 563,540 for the project. The project will be completed by the end of 2022.

Representatives of the National Forestry Agency briefed the representative of the Slovenian Agency for International Cooperation and Development, Moitsa Kopsეს, on the activities carried out. Representatives of local self-government also attended the meeting.

In 2021, as part of the project, the National Forestry Agency purchased forest inventory equipment and trained 10 young forest specialists who were employed in the inventory work. Field equipment purchased - forest trucks, pickup trucks, excavator, and wood splitter.

The ultimate goal of the project is to create a precondition for sustainable forest use in Adigeni Municipality, which, in turn, will help improve the socio-economic situation of the local population.
