In Kvemo Kartli, the National Forestry Agency has implemented measures to promote forest restoration on 33 hectares, including natural renewal. Prior to the restoration work, the area was cleared of debris and fenced.

The National Forestry Agency implements reforestation activities throughout the country. In 2021, 16 projects were prepared and restoration-cultivation measures were implemented in Guria, Imereti, Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti regions on a total area of 444 ha.

At the initiative of the National Forestry Agency, it is planned to restore up to 500 hectares of forest area across the country in 2022.

It should be noted that the Framework Convention on Climate Change stipulates that the National Forestry Agency should restore at least 200 hectares of forest each year and promote the preservation of natural forest cover.
