One of the priorities of the National Forestry Agency is the planning and implementation of forest restoration measures across the country. Activities in this direction have increased significantly in recent years. Since 2013, 1100 hectares of forest have been restored, 444 hectares of which have been planted this year. As part of the forest restoration measures, up to 900,000 deciduous and coniferous seedlings have been planted throughout the country.

In parallel with the forest restoration measures, the National Forestry Agency is setting up temporary nurseries, creating fast-growing plantations (acacias), thus fulfilling the Agency's commitment to the Framework Convention on Climate Change, which means that by 2030, at least 150 hectares of forests will be restored annually.

It is noteworthy that the International Tree Planting Day was established in 1874. Its founder is American botanist, Minister of Agriculture Sterling Morton.
