5th June - World Environment day
In connection with World Environment Day, a large-scale clean-up campaign was held in the state forest of Tvalivi village, in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, initiated by the National Forestry Agency. Representatives from various fields, including journalists, singers, and athletes participated in the event.
World Environment Day is one of the largest global events, dedicated to a pressing environmental issue of the year. The main message for World Environment Day 2026 is: 'Inspired by Nature, for the Climate, for our Future.' World Environment Day has been celebrated since 1973 under the initiative of the United Nations. The goal of the event is to raise public environmental awareness.
In celebration of World Environment Day, the launch event for Georgia’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) on Climate Change will also be held, alongside an award ceremony for top educators under the project 'Education for a Green Future.
