Timber illegal logging and transportation statistics - April 2026

During the month of April of the current year, employees of the National Forestry Agency identified 72 cases of illegal logging and transportation.

In total of nearly 76 cubic meters of illegally obtained firewood and timber of various species were seized and stored in the Agency’s "Business Yards"

Across the country, cases of illegal logging were revealed in various regions, including: 13 cases in Imereti, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 4, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 4, Kvemo Kartli - 20, Kakheti - 15, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 2, Guria - 9, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1 and 4 in Shida Kartli.

It is noteworthy that out of the identified violations, 9 cases show signs of a criminal offense, which is why the relevant materials have been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for further response.

Nationwide, 263 cases of illegal logging were identified by the employees of the National Forestry Agency during the period of January-April.
