Employees of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Forestry Service identified a case of unauthorized occupation of state forest land in the Tianeti forestry district.

The offender had placed a total of 16 cubic meters of timber and up to 55 cubic meters of firewood on an illegally constructed platform. Employees of the Department of Environmental Supervision have completed the relevant violation documentation, and the timber has been transported to the Tianeti business yard for further disposal.

"The relevant agencies of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture are conducting patrols using both manpower and modern technological means to detect and prevent violations. By utilizing camera traps and drones installed in the forest, cases of illegal forest use will be reduced to a minimum," stated Giorgi Mikeladze, Deputy Head of the National Forestry Agency.
