The cause of forest and field fires together with global climate change and rising temperatures for the most part is human negligence.

The foresters-specialists of the regional services of the National Forestry Agency have been trained in forest fire prevention and primary response, which includes the organization of forest firefighting, tactics, emergency rules, and first aid.

In addition, the National Forestry Agency conducts annual fire prevention measures, including environmental awareness and information campaigns in which public figures and volunteers participate.

In order to reduce the risk of forest fires, temporary firefighters are hired every year in all regions of the country, who together with regional forestry services participate in the monitoring of fire-hazardous areas and supervise fire safety in particularly high visited recreational forest areas.

When moving in the forest, following the rules and obeying the prohibitions is the best prevention of forest and field fires. The National Forestry Agency appeals to the population to be extremely careful and, in case of fire, to immediately inform the rescue services.
