To mark Earth Day, an informative meeting was held at Sagarejo Public School N1, initiated by the National Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. During the meeting, students delivered presentations on the theme "Forests and the Earth."

As part of the event, 22 Thuja saplings were symbolically planted on the school grounds. The students themselves will take responsibility for the ongoing care and maintenance of these trees.

The event was attended by Besik Amiranashvili, Head of the National Forestry Agency, Platon Kalmakhelidze, State Representative in the Kakheti region, and representatives of the local government.

"In celebration of Earth Day, we held an information session for pupils. Engaging young people and encouraging their involvement is crucial for raising environmental awareness in society. I would also like to note that supporting vocational education and attracting young professionals to the field is a key component of the forestry reform. We hope that more people will become interested in protecting and preserving the forest ecosystem," stated Besik Amiranashvili.

Earth Day is an international event dedicated to environmental protection, established in the United States in 1970. It was initiated by American Senator Gaylord Nelson.
