The illegal extraction and transportation of timber in the town of Bakuriani
Employees of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Forestry Service have uncovered a case of illegal timber extraction and transportation in the town of Bakuriani, within a state forest.
A local resident illegally harvested up to 5 cubic meters of coniferous wood for firewood, which was being transported using a high-clearance vehicle. An administrative violation report has been filed against the offender.
The vehicle has been seized and the illegally obtained timber has been moved to the Bakuriani business yard for further disposal.
