Two cases of legal violations in the town of Bakuriani
Employees of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Forest Service detected two cases of legal violations. In the town of Bakuriani, illegal harvesting of pinewood was discovered in state-owned forest areas, totaling up to 10 cubic meters of timber.
Violation reports have been drawn up against the offenders, and the illegally harvested logs have been transferred to the "Business Yard" in Tsaghveri for further management.
"Legislation on illegal logging and transportation has been tightened. To prevent and stop violations, patrols are being carried out by employees of the relevant regional forestry services. Appropriate sanctions are applied to any identified violation," said the head of the National Forest Agency, Kaha Tsertsvadze
