Timber illegal logging and transportation statistics - November 2025
Of the violations detected by the agency, 55 cases involved the illegal logging and transportation of timber. In total, up to 150 cubic meters of illegally harvested timber of various species were seized and stored in the agency’s “operational yards.”
Across the country, among the cases of illegal timber harvesting, 16 violations were detected by employees of the Imereti Forestry Service, 4 by Samtskhe-Javakheti, 9 by Guria, 11 by Kvemo Kartli, 5 by Kakheti, 6 by Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 3 by Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, and 1 by Shida Kartli Forestry Service employees.
During the same period, 2 cases of unauthorized occupation of state forest land were identified in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Kvemo Kartli regions.
It is noteworthy that from January to October 2025, a total of 510 cases of illegal timber harvesting and transportation were detected nationwide by employees of the National Forestry Agency. The volume of the seized timber stored in the “operational yards” amounted to 1,350 cubic meters. During the same period, 56 cases of unauthorized occupation of state forest land were identified by the National Forestry Agency employees across the country.
