Timber illegal logging and transportation statistics - September 2025

Employees of the National Forestry Agency identified 37 cases of legal violations in the month of September this year.

Out of the identified violations, 37 cases involve the illegal extraction and transportation of timber. A total of up to 116 cubic meters of illegally extracted timber of various species has been seized, which was intended to be stored in the Agency's "Business yards."

Of the 37 cases of illegal timber extraction across the country, 2 violations were identified by the Imereti Forestry Service staff, 8 by the Samtskhe-Javakheti staff, 8 by the Guria staff, 12 by the Kvemo Kartli staff, 5 by the Kakheti staff, and 2 by the Shida Kartli Forestry Service staff.

It is worth noting that from January to September 2025, a total of 455 cases of illegal timber extraction and transportation were identified across the country; the volume of resources stored in the "Businessl yards" amounted to 1209 cubic meters.

Since January 2025, employees of the National Forestry Agency have identified 54 cases of illegal occupation of the State Forest Fund across the country.
