Fact of illegal use of a large quantity of timber in Tsaghveri
Employees of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Forestry Service have discovered a case of illegal exploitation of forest resources in Tsaghveri, on state-owned forest land. A local resident illegally obtained 6 cubic meters of high-quality coniferous timber for construction purposes.
An administrative violation protocol has been drawn up against the offender, and the illegally obtained timber has been transferred to Tsaghveri’s ‘Business year’ for further disposal.
It is worth noting that in order to prevent illegal activities, the entire perimeter of the state forest, managed by the National Forestry Agency, is equipped with camera traps. This, along with patrolling by forestry service employees, helps detect illegal use of natural resources.
