Timber illegal logging and transportation statistics - August 2025

Employees of the National Forest Agency identified 54 cases of legal violations in August of this year.

Out of the violations, 46 cases were related to the illegal harvesting and transportation of timber. A total of 158 cubic meters of timber from various species, which was illegally harvested, has been seized and stored in the Agency's "Business Yards."

Across the country, of the 46 cases of illegal timber harvesting, 1 violation was identified by employees of the Imereti Forest Service, 7 by Samtskhe-Javakheti, 13 by Guria, 7 by Kvemo Kartli, 10 by Kakheti, 1 by Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 5 by Shida Kartli, and 2 by Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti Forest Service employees.

Additionally, in August, 8 cases of illegal occupation of state forest lands were identified. Of these, 1 was by Samtskhe-Javakheti, 1 by Kvemo Kartli, 5 by Shida Kartli, and 1 by Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti Forest Service employees.

It is worth noting that from January to August 2025, a total of 418 cases of illegal timber harvesting and transportation were identified across the country. The volume of resources stored in "Business Yards" amounted to 1093 cubic meters.

Since January 2025, employees of the National Forestry Agency have identified 54 cases of illegal occupation of state forest lands across the country.
