Timber illegal logging and transportation statistics - July 2025

In July of this year, employees of the National Forestry Agency identified 76 violations.

Out of these, 74 cases involved the illegal harvesting and transportation of timber. In total, up to 371 cubic meters of illegally obtained timber of various species were seized and stored in the agency's “operational yards.”

In Akhalkalaki, employees of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Forestry Service uncovered 2 cases of unauthorized occupation of state forest land.

It is noteworthy that from January to July 2025, employees of the National Forestry Agency identified a total of 364 cases of illegal timber harvesting and transportation across the country. The volume of timber stored in the “operational yards” reached 935 cubic meters.

Additionally, from January 2025 to date, a total of 46 cases of unauthorized occupation of state forest land have been identified nationwide by employees of the National Forestry Agency.
