Rehabilitation of agricultural and forestry roads in the village of Kekhovani
In Samtskhe-Javakheti, in the village of Kekhovani, forestry road construction is underway over a section of nearly 3 kilometers as part of Phase II of the project “Sustainable Forest Management in Adigeni Municipality.”
"The National Forestry Agency is implementing the rehabilitation of forestry-agricultural roads across the entire country. In Kekhovani, the construction of forestry roads is being carried out based on Slovenian practices and in accordance with European standards. These roads not only facilitate easier access to firewood, but also enable more effective forest maintenance and restoration activities, and, when necessary, allow for timely fire prevention and response efforts,” said Koba Silagadze, Head of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Forestry Department.
The project “Sustainable Forest Management in Adigeni Municipality” is being implemented with the financial support of the Government of Slovenia by a consortium of the WWF Caucasus Programme and Zavita Consulting.
