Employees of the National Forestry Agency revealed 65 facts of violations in June of this year

64 of the violations were illegal logging and transportation of timber. (Among them, 3 facts contained signs of a criminal offense). In total, up to 79 cubic meters of illegally logged timber of various types were seized, which was to be stored in the agency's "business yards". Across the country, 6 violations of the facts of illegal logging were revealed by employees of the Imereti Forestry Service, 8 - by employees of the Samtskhe-Javakheti, 33 - by employees of the Guria, 1 - by employees of the Kvemo Kartli, 8 - by employees of the Kakheti, 3 - by employees of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti and 6 - by employees of the Racha-Lechkhumi Kvemo Svaneti Forestry Services.

The employees of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Forestry Service also identified 1 case of arbitrary seizure of the State Forest Fund.

The priority direction of the National Forestry Agency is forest restoration activities, which have been implemented on an area of ​​4,000 ha across the country, and according to the plan, restoration works will be carried out on an area of ​​at least 20,000 ha by 2030. It is also important to involve well-known figures in the information campaigns planned by the Agency. In order to prevent violations, camera traps have been placed throughout the perimeter of the state forest managed by the National Forestry Agency, which, together with patrols by Forestry Service employees, allows for the detection of illegal use of natural resources.
