Illegal sawmill in Imereti
Employees of the Imereti Forest Service discovered an unregistered homemade sawmill in a state forest in the Baghdati municipality.
In the area surrounding the sawmill, 5 cubic meters of raw processed wood products (planks) of various species were found.
"In order to prevent and stop violations, our regional forestry service employees are actively patrolling. The case discovered in the Baghdati municipality contains signs of a criminal offense; the materials will be sent to the relevant authorities, and the illegally obtained timber and sawmill have been moved to the Zestafoni business yard," said Kaha Tsertsvadze, head of the National Forestry Agency.
