Memorandum of cooperation in forest management issues

Head of the National Forestry Agency Kakha Tsertsvadze and Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Centre For The Caucasus (REC Caucasus) Sofo Akhobadze signed a memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum envisages cooperation in the areas of biodiversity research, conservation and development of environmental education in Georgia, as well as raising public awareness of sustainable forest management and forest ecosystem.

"The National Forestry Agency has long-standing cooperation with the Regional Environmental Centre For The Caucasus. The signing of the memorandum will further deepen and make practical the existing cooperation on issues related to forest management. We are planning to implement joint projects in the issues of restoration and conservation of the ecosystem and threatened species", said the head of the National Forestry Agency, Kakha Tsertsvadze.
