The employees of the National Forestry Agency revealed 87 facts of timber illegal logging and transportation in this year October

Employees of regional services of the National Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia revealed 87 facts of timber illegal logging and transportation throughout the country in October of this year.

10 violations were detected by the employees of the Kakheti Forest Service, 5 - Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 6 - Kvemo Kartli, 11 - Samtskhe-Javakheti, 14 - Shida Kartli, 22 - Imereti, 18 - Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, and 1 - Racha-Lechkhumi Kvemo Svaneti Forest Service.

Documentation has been prepared for the offenders, and their vehicles have been impounded and moved to the agency's "business yards." Case materials were sent to relevant agencies for further response.

In October 2023, National Forestry Agency employees impounded 64 cubic meters of various wood types, including up to 52 cubic meters of firewood, and up to 12 cubic meters of firewood.

As for the period from January to October 2023, the National Forestry Agency has identified 911 facts of illegal logging and transportation of timber throughout the country, the volume of resources stored in "business yards" amounted to 1429 cubic meters.
