A new office of the Forestry Service was opened in Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti
The new office of the Forestry Service in Zugdidi was opened by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, and Giorgi Guguchia, the State Trustee of Samegrelo-Zemo-Svaneti. The forestry service will serve 9 municipalities of the region. Citizens will enjoy all the services of the National Forestry Agency in the renovated space. The building is equipped with the necessary inventory and equipment.
"It is important for us that the local population can easily use the services of the National Forestry Agency. I would also like to point out that social guarantees and working conditions of employees remain the main priority of the agency. With the legislative changes implemented in the past years, the Forestry Agency provides life and health insurance for foresters, the use of a form of incentive for the performance of particularly difficult tasks, which, we think, will significantly increase the motivation of employees", said Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Kakha Kakabadze.
Representatives of local self-government attended the event. It should be noted that the rehabilitation of offices of regional forestry services has been completed in almost all regions. At the moment, part of the cars and equipment are updated. By the end of September, the National Forestry Agency will completely renew its vehicle fleet. 30 units of high-terrain and special-purpose equipment will be distributed to 9 regional forestry services, which will ensure effective deployment of forestry-agricultural measures.
