For efficient implementation of forestry measures, crane-manipulator, gas saw (14 pieces), ATV, buggy (2 pieces), GPS device (7 pieces), and overalls (helmet, gloves, vests, shoes) are transferred to the regional offices of Forest Services.

“Within the framework of the program, the National Forestry Agency carried out timber production and rehabilitation of forest roads in Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions. Besides this, an additional 120 specialists were employed to be involved in monitoring fire-hazardous areas and other forestry activities. The salaries of the specialists were fully funded by GIZ, ”- said Archil Nikoleishvili, Head of the National Forestry Agency.

Last year, rehabilitation of regional forestry offices across the country began, part of the fleet and equipment were upgraded. Today, the Forestry Agency has several dozen special equipment.

After the enactment of the "New Forest Code", the Agency changes the practice of timber production. Social logging will be phased out, the Agency will organize timber production, sorting, and warehousing in "business yards", which was organized in almost all regions of Georgia. The provision of modern equipment is one of the priorities of the National Forestry Agency.

The program "Ecoservice" is implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) with the support of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
