Tree planting day
On the occasion of the International Tree Planting Day, at the initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, up to 30 coniferous seedlings were planted in the vicinity of the Shiomghvime monastery complex.
Civil activists, journalists, actors, and athletes joined the National Forestry Agency's "Plant a Tree" campaign. The aim of the event is to raise public awareness about forest and restoration maintenance.
International Tree Planting Day was established in 1874. Its founder is American botanist and Minister of Agriculture, Sterling Mortonia.
